Sony PS3 & Gran Turismo 5

So it all started at a visit to my friend Danny's new shop, MiniCorsa to get some service done, and I ended up playing with his PS2 and GT4 as I waited. The next thing I knew, hours had passed and my car was done. Haha, ok, so I finally found justification to have one of these at my shop. So here it is.

SCD now has a Sony PS3 with the latest Gran Turismo 5 Prologue along with a Logitech Driving Force GT wheel/shifter/pedals. Audio is provided by a Logitech 5.1 sound system. Soon I'll have a 42" HD LCD screen to go along with it.

For those that have never seen how realistic this racing simulation is, here are some screenshots, and yes, it REALLY does look this amazing.

Wow, I honestly thought the screen shots on the main page were from an event with a whole bunch of dream cars someone went to and was following with a camera, its crazy how real it is now. If I wasn't broke and in college I would definately pick up a PS3 tomorrow.

Re: Sony PS3 & Gran Turismo 5

I love my PS3!!! I don't have Gran Turismo but it's on my list. My buddy bought it will the whole wheel set up too so I'm waiting for him to get sick of it so I can get a deal. lol

I picked up a 42" Samsung plasma and love it. I can't believe how realistic a lot of the games look. Surround should be coming this Christmas. Can't wait.

Re: Sony PS3 & Gran Turismo 5

Yeah the realism is breathtaking. Especially if you've seen the PS2 GT4 versus the PS3 GT5--night and day difference in realism.....I never thought I'd buy a console, my last console was a modded Sega Dreamcast that got stolen from my house--some kid broke in and stole it--I had bought it for DDR, lol. Prior to that I had a Sega Genisis--and prior to that...OMG...an Atari 2600??? HAHAHAH

I blame it on my friend who let me play his PS4.

yeah I don't have money now, but eventually a nice large HDTV would be nice for my PS3..=)

Re: Sony PS3 & Gran Turismo 5

Haha, thanks Benny. You helped me a GREAT deal. I finished the remaining cases that day and yesterday Erik Mejia came by and helped me get all the outstanding orders shipped. We had a ton! But now it's quiet and have too much time to play. lol.

In fact, I was so bored, I added to my credit card debt and bought a Samsung 32" HDTV that is 720p. Strange thing though the PS3 thinks it's 1080p. Regardless the picture quality and game play is breathtaking now. WOW.

Re: Sony PS3 & Gran Turismo 5

haha... no prob. I didn't help much really.. if the stuff was ready earlier, I would've knocked those boxes out in no time! Glad you still got everything out and got to enjoy your PS3+GT5+32" HDTV.

Re: Sony PS3 & Gran Turismo 5

Ooops, I meant PS2 and GT4. Actually the PS4 is on it's way---but from what I can tell, it's got the same hardware and specs as the PS3 but going to cost a lot more....
