August 2010 Update:: Summer Schedule
Monday August 2, 2010
ShowCarDetailing.com is undergoing a major revamp. Don't be surprised to see a different page when you visit ShowCarDetailing.com. We are in the process of refocusing our core strengths. This discussion forum will continue the same and we are doing everything possible to maintain the same URL links. We appreciate your support over the years and want to continue to provide more of what we do best: Polish paint and show how it's done.
June 2010 Update:: Summer Schedule
Monday June 21, 2010
Wednesday Clinics have been a hit but we are going to take a break from them for the next 6 weeks and resuming in August. We are completely stocked with Prima, and have 2 gallon and 3.5 gallon buckets in Red and Black now for your washing and ONR needs! Stop by to see what's new!
April 2010 Update:: Moving and Clinics
Monday April 26, 2010
The shop is moving again. The new address is 5530 E La Palma Ave, Anaheim, CA 92807. Please make a note of that. We are across from the Wescom credit Union, and adjacent to In-N-Out at Imperial/La Palma. From the freeway, just exit Imperial Highway from the 91 and you're there.
With my new 2200SF shop, I will again have the ability to do clinics. It was just impossible at my current location. Also I will be able to do them during weeknights or on weekends as well. We haven't yet moved in or settled in to the new shop, but I can say what I'm planning for it, will be very NICE! I will announce a Grand Opening date which might end up being an event/Clinic. Who knows! lol.

THANK YOU TO EVERYONE THAT VOTED

March 2010 Update:: Detail Fest
Wednesday March 17, 2010
The shop has been very busy!!! I just wanted to let everyone know that I will be out of the shop for 4 days from March 25 to 29 to attend AutoGeeks' Detail Fest event where I will once again promote Black Wow.
January 2010 Update:: Traveling and Less Traveling!
Tuesday January 26, 2010
Sorry for the lack of updates. I started a new business last month in Corona that's taken up my time, but things are running pretty smoothly so I will be able to get back to working on cars soon. The rain storms and floods haven't helped either. I am leaving out of the country on Feb. 1 to Feb. 16 to be with my wife.
After that I will be back until March where I will be attending DetailFest to represent Black Wow. I don't have any other travels scheduled, so if you're thinking of bringing your car to me, shoot me an email. Because DetailFest conflicts with AMVIV, I won't be attending AMVIV as much as it pains me, because I really wanted to see the new venue.
Also, part of the reason for lack of updates here on the SCD site, is that we are also on FaceBook. I have set up a FaceBook fan page there where I provide more frequent updates and links.
Remember, that even while I'm traveling that the online orders are still being packaged and shipped, so no worries about what happens to orders when I'm not around.
Thank you and Happy 2010!
Richard (OctaneGuy)
November Update:: Traveling and More Traveling!
Monday November 9, 2009
I will be returning to Hong Kong from November 23 to December 18. The shop will be open for car washes, quick details, and supply purchases. The only thing that won't be available will be my paint restoration polishing services. However I am working on a temporary replacement possibility as well. After the new year, I'm expecting my traveling will subside drastically, and my availability will increase after the firat half of 2010.
October Update:: Lots of new stuff
Wednesday October 28, 2009
I'm in Hong Kong again but for only one week. I'll be back next Tuesday, November 3. Kyle has been out sick with the flu, so order processing will be limping along. My partner Steve is filling in for the time being. Sorry for any delays!
I got half a dozen new writeups to post!!
September Update:: Lots of new stuff
Sunday September 13, 2009
Are you on FaceBook? Become a FAN Today. We've got video clips, updated news and articles there. Don't worry this discussion forum isn't going anywhere. Complete details of writeups will only be available here, but FaceBook will be updated first. Don't have FaceBook yet? Create an account, it's free and just needs an email account. It's completely secure, easy, and spam free. FB has literally changed my life.
I'll be out of the country again from September 6 to September 24. (Didn't know I was back??? lol). I'll be traveling again in late November.
I promise we'll resume our clinics again when I return. We'll plan for mid October!
Other news: We have the 7424XP polishers in stock for the same price as the 7424. I haven't posted any writeups in a long time. It's not that I haven't been detailing, on the contrary, I just haven't been able to get to them.
One writeup that I'm particularly proud of that will finally go up is one I did on Thanksgiving of 2008 where I was flown to Florida to save a car that was wrecked by a local detailer..but for legal reasons wasn't able to talk about it until now.
I want to express my deepest thanks to all my fans and supporters for purchasing products from my ShowCarSupplies.com store. I've got so many ideas, and so much more potential now that I'm in the new space with a dedicated team, time is just the biggest issue!
PreWow is moving along quite nicely. We're expecting a rollout by SEMA.
Nanoskin is also getting close to implementation. I've talked to many people about this new coating that makes your paint scratch resistant. Look for the rollout on that at SEMA this year and we'll be the FIRST and ONLY approved shop that is using this new technology.
July Update:: New Address
Our new address is:
ShowCarDetailing.com
1121 N. Hawk Circle
Anaheim, CA 92807
Fax: 714 917 0220
I will be out of the country from July 6 to July 23. Although the company will run as usual, order processing will be delayed during our transition.
June Update:: Back In Shop
IMPORTANT UPDATE!!!
We are moving! Finally we've secured a new shop location that is perfect for our needs. At 10,000 SF, free standing building with a secured gated parking lot..we're going to be able to have our clinics again, as well as weekday get togethers and dust won't be an issue like at the Placentia location. We are all very excited about this latest development! More details will be posted as we get closer to being ready for customers to visit us.
I just found out today that a lot of my customers didn't realize I was back yet! I had an awesome trip in Asia and will be making regular visits throughout the year, so check back here updates.
Although this isn't NEW news, it's still important nonetheless. For the last several months I've had a new guy working for me who has been doing an incredible job, including running the biz while I'm travelling. So next time you call or stop by the shop and speak to Kyle, he's my right hand man.
Just as the dust has begun to settle after our last move, we've found out the hard way that our new home isn't what we thought it was, and we are preparing to move yet again to a much larger and nicer facility that will be even better than our Placentia digs. This should happen in July.
Speaking of July, I'll be travelling once again to Asia, and in August, I might be in Colorado for MINIs In The Mountains (MITM) though it's not yet confirmed.
April - May 2009 Update:: Out of Shop
Just wanted to give everyone a heads up that I've been out of the shop and will be through May for a business trip in Asia. I can be reached by email only. The toll free phone is being directed to my assistant Kyle who will be continuing to fulfill orders. If you were planning on stopping by the office, exact change in cash is accepted only. For credit card transactions, you will be directed to one of our computers to purchase the items through the terminal. When it comes to Shipping, choose Will Call to avoid shipping charges. Thanks and see you when I return.
April 12, 2009 Update:: Happy Easter!!!
As you've probably noticed, there are some changes taking place on SCD. I'm working to make it easier to access. Many changes are taking place behind the scenes. I've purchased and installed a new Articles component for the forum. Here you will find all the writeups I've done for Detailing and for the MINI Community. Finally a single place to find all my work.
This home page is being reworked as well, to be easier and faster to load.
Thanks for all of your support. Happy Easter!!!
March 23, 2009 Update
I have changed the forum back to ShowCarDetailing.com. Please use that domain from now on. I also fixed a bug with the Recaptcha Registration page...preventing new users from signing up.
I had an awesome time at Autogeeks Detail Fest this past weekend. I'll post some pix from the event as well as the Ferrari that I Black Wow'd.
March 10, 2009 Update
Check out what I'm working on this week!! It's got some swirls, holograms(towel scratches on the door), light scratches, and the wheels and engine bay metals are all fogged.
Watch the thread HERE

March 1, 2009 Update
We are now fully moved into the new shop however it will be weeks before we are fully up and running. Although today I did some paint correction on a 2007 silver BMW. So don't be afraid to call if you need some work performed or to buy some products.
This weekend we are returning back to the ShowCarDetailing.com domain name. NoSwirls.com was a temporary domain name and it will eventually be turned into a sister site. I'm sorry for the constant changes, but I expect this to be the final change for awhile.
February 23, 2009 Update
We got a new address! This whole week we are moving the shop so unfortunately we'll be closed during this time..but if anyone wants to help..I'll trade you some products, lol. Course, we'll be done by the weekend..so you'll have to be one of those non working self employed type like me lol.
New Address:
1055 N. Shepard St. Anaheim, CA 92806
February 7, 2009 Update
I added an iPhone skin to the site, it still needs some tweaking but it works pretty well as is. So if you've got an iPhone, you can now browse quickly and easily the site! I plan to make the store iPhone friendly too but that will take longer.
January 28, 2009 UpdateI
I'm back from Asia, and nearly recovered after fighting the flu for the past two weeks. A lot of changes are taking place. SCD is moving to another location along with OC Rod N Customs. Tentative new location is in Orange, just a few miles south of where we are now. Online orders won't be affected.
Upcoming travel dates will be end of March for Autogeeks Detailfest (March 21) in Florida and AMVIV (Unconfirmed) (March 26-29) in Las Vegas.
Check out some of the cool things you can expect in the very near future from SCD HERE as a result of the Asia trip.
Happy Holidays and Best Wishes in 2009!!
Here at SCD, we just wanted to wish everyone a very safe and happy holidays! I'm really looking forward to a strong 2009 presence. We'll be launching new products such as the Black Wow companion (PW), as well as several inventions that have been in development for a long time. Thank you for joining us and being a part of the success here at SCD.
January 2009 Shop Schedule
I will be out of the country from January 8 to January 22. I am making arrangements for my shop to remain open for product sales via the internet. Walk-in sales will be limited to when Erik is in the shop to fill in for me and that may be hard to gauge. Shipping will be slower during this time as products will be shipped once a week during this time period. Thanks for your patience!
Site Changes (December 27, 2008)
I'm rearranging the content of the front page to make things easier to read and find. Please be patient during these updates.
December 20, 2008 Update
The new store is up and running. Looking for Prima or other products?? Check it out HERE or www.ShowCarSupplies.com
IMPORTANT CHANGES AND SITE NOTIFICATION
- Due to constant problems with my webhost, I've moved to a completely different hosting company and in the interim setup this domain. Eventually the domain will be back on SCD instead of NoSwirls, but there will be no further issues with the site being down or data being unavailable.
- The new SCD eshop can now be found at www.ShowCarSupplies.com. The only differences in the new store are some upgraded features including a Gift Registry, and an entirely new webhost that is faster and more secure.
Did you happen to pass by our shop on the 57 freeway? First and foremost, we polish paint with flat rate pricing starting at $450+ for about 12 hours of quality polishing. Anything that can be fixed by paint removal techniques will be done. Check out OctaneGuy's Portfolio HERE for examples of work. We also sell the best chemicals, supplies, and equipment you will need for paint polishing and have free weekend clinics once a month. Looking for the best detailer? Make sure they are a Quality Detailer.

Our store hand picks the best performing products that are often unique to the competition. Instead of offering the same polishing systems that you can buy from anyone, I only sell the products that I like to use in my own paint polishing restores. If I'm not happy with the product, you won't find it in my store. Some unique items include the fully self contained Nomad pressure washer which you can purchase online or save on shipping and pick it up at the shop! And unlike many online retailers who work from their homes, I've got a fully stocked show room

And a secure freeway accessible location to work on cars

Need some paintwork or dents removed?
We have a full body shop for painting and fabricating. Need something powder coated or maybe some door dings removed? Or did you just scrape your paint along the garage wall? Scratches, dents, scrapes can potentially be restored without requiring extensive body work.Call for a free evaluation and estimate!
New Products
New products that will be in the store in the next few weeks include SCD microfiber polishing cloths, microfiber drying towels, applicators, 3" and 4" pads and backing plates, and much more! Products take longer to appear in my store because I need to test them under real world conditions before offering them to you.

Ever heard of Black Wow?
It was developed and invented by OctaneGuy aka Richard Lin and formulated by his father, a world renowned scientist. Dealer inquiries invited.

The PC Guard - A ShowCarDetailing Exclusive
The PC Guard is for enhancing the safety of your Porter Cable polisher using high density foam rubber as a barrier between the metal guard surrounding the counterweight on your PC and the paint.
When you buy a PC from SCD, it comes with this mod already in place. It's also available separately for those wishing to enhance their existing PCs.
Safety with Confidence Ever try to polish out an area like under a door handle with a PC? You have to be very careful or otherwise you might damage the surface with the vibrating metal housing hitting the door handle of your customers car! Or maybe you just didn't push the polishing pad in as far as you would like to in order to avoid risking damage to the component. This would also apply anytime you're working around spoilers, grills, taillights, louvers, vents, or any where you need to get into a tight area.
The retail price is only $9.95. and can be applied in about 10 seconds! $10 to potentially save you from hundreds and even thousands of dollars on a new paint job is cheap insurance!
Purchase today!

Hello to All SCD Members,
My name is Stelian and I'm from Bucharest, Romania. I'm a detailing enthusiast and a Leatherique & Black WOW distributor for Romanian customers. 3 months ago I've decided to make a detailing community like Facebook or HI5: Detailing Community
Every member has the following features:
- personal blog
- can upload pictures
The website has also articles & news sections (where I will post reviews, latest news from detailing, etc). The community does not have a forum section, because I don't want to become a rival or something like that to this forum or to other forums that has a detailing section.
I invite every member of this forum (SCD) to become a member also of Detailing-Community. Now, there are 93 members. When the website will grow up I will add more features like: wall, store, classifieds section, etc.
If you decide to become a member, and you find a bug or an error, let me know please. If you need something else, let me know.
Thank you for reading this post.
Sincerely,
Stelian

» 7424XP Porter Cable Polishers at SCD |
|
Sep 02, 2009 - 7:51 AM - by OctaneGuy
|
This is just a heads up that after extensive testing of the recently released Porter Cable 7424XP random orbital polisher, I am now carrying them in my store. The price hasn't changed from the original polisher bundle that includes my exclusive PC Guards, OneGrip, and Housing Bolts. It also includes the Prima velcro backing plate, and a Prima/LC flat white polishing pad, as well as the white polishing pad that's included with the polisher.
OctaneGuy's PC mods make polishing safer and more comfortable, especially important for newbies, but just as useful for the seasoned pro! These are mods invented by me as a professional paint polisher.
I would like to make clear that the XP polisher looks different from the regular 7424, but it feels the same in terms of weight and balance. The biggest visual difference is the variable speed dial is on the top instead of the end of the tool and the larger bright colored on/off switch.

From a usage point of view, the increased power isn't a day and night difference. It does seem to bog down a little less when slight pressure is applied while buffing, but this factor really only applies to polishing systems such as Meguiar's where applying 15 to 20 pounds of downward pressure is required.
With the Prima system, this "improvement" is less noticeable, but I do like the improved "feel".
I polished out this black Mercedes SLK with ceramiclear paint using the 7424XP, an orange pad, and Prima for perfect results.

Banana Gloss cannot be shipped by air, so either come pick it up, or I can ship by Ground methods only. $89.95.

I'm really sorry about all the problems with SCD this past month. My hosting company for the last two years completely failed me and forced me to switch when it was obvious they could not resolve the problems they created for themselves. I cannot recommend EasyCGI as a webhost to anybody. I put them in the same league as GoDaddy. Just terrible.
During this transition, there will likely be some bugs, and for the interim, the ShowCarDetailing.com URL is being replaced by NoSwirls.com
To reach me by email, just substitute the SCD domain with NoSwirls and you'll be fine.
